Harry Burnett “H.B.” Reese founded the H.B Reese Candy Company (if you couldn’t tell from his surname). Originally he worked for the Hershey’s company who make the chocolate they are coated in. Eventually, after the second world war in roughly, 1950 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups became an enormous success, Harry Burnett Reese decided to leave the Hershey business and focus on making his ‘penny cups’ a success.
